“In stillness lies the sound which is the creative existence of God. Whoever masters the stillness and the science, and can understand it, receives all knowledge.”- Yogi Bhajan

In our hectic world stillness is becoming increasingly difficult, however, if we do not become still through the practice of meditation it is impossible to hear God. Stillness through meditation brings us to into our unconscious thoughts. Our thought processes, memories, interests, and motivations live within our unconscious minds. For this reason, it is important to meditate and have a spiritual practice. There are specific exercises in Kundalini yoga that clear the unconscious mind. Having the knowledge that your daily behaviors are primarily based on your thoughts living within your subconscious is a powerful realization. This awareness can bring healing to your life and your relationships.

“The unconscious mind comprises mental processes that are inaccessible to consciousness but that influence judgements, feelings, or behavior. According to Freud, the unconscious mind is the primary source of human behavior. Like an iceberg, the most important part of the mind is the part you cannot see.” - Saul McLeod - Psychology Today

“The Master of Kundalini Yoga, Yogi Bhajan, often talked about a most elevated state of consciousness called Shuniya, where the ego is brought to complete stillness. A power exists there. We do not hassle or try to act. With folded hands of devotion, Infinity acts for us. In that state of “zero,” if we can focus our mental projection on a clear intention, which acknowledges our higher self and the Creator within us, it will be so.” - Dr. Jivan Joti Kaur

Yogi Bhajan said, “There is no miracle. The mind is infinite when it concentrates the magnetic energy of the psyche. There are only two things: energy and matter. Any composition, permutation of any energy into matter and matter into energy, can be caused by a disciplined mental concentration. That mental concentration is in you, it is not outside.”

My prayer for you today is that you would find stillness and silence in this hectic world. Tap into your unconscious mind and let go of limiting beliefs that you have built into your brain for years. Find the peace that only God can provide.

This is not the moment to accelerate and push on, but to silently return to yourself. It is not always easy to stop your thoughts. What you can do, however, is to look at them with mild amusement and find inner peace. this card invites you to return to silence. Withdraw for a while. Just sit and be. At first, your thoughts might only scream louder for attention. If you persist long enough, they will slowly turn into nothing more than a background noise, resulting in a serene calm. In this precious space, there is no stress, nor are there expectations or judgements. Empty yourself and let the ‘now’ flow through you. the current moment truly is a present, all you really need. In conscious presence block anything distracts you from the outside in, make space to manifest from the inside out. If you are used to living in a state of constant distraction and anesthesia. Stillness can be confronting. It is, however, crucial in the search for meaningful insights. Being still gives you renewed energy to fuel your progress. In the midst of our often highly intense existence, stillness is no redundant luxury. Stillness is your lifeline.
