Self Forgiveness

You can never get rid of your fears, you can never get rid of your pain, no matter what effort you make, until you have the guts to forgive yourself. Just forgive yourself. ~Yogi Bhajan

Why is it so hard for us to forgive ourselves? Do we not realize by perpetuating the guilt within ourselves we will stay in a pattern?

I’ve struggled with the issue of self forgiveness for my entire life. — I’m sure everyone does.

It is much easier for me to forgive someone else than for me to forgive myself.

In Kundalini this morning, self forgiveness was the focus of the kriya set. It was deep, eye opening and emotional. Just knowing that many of the patterns I have developed were direct results of choices I made by not forgiving myself. By not forgiving yourself you can end up with depression, anxiety, addiction, etc.

Yogi Bhajan wrote:

What is there to forgive and release? The hundreds of inner tapes, patterns, and feelings that had you live as if you are limited and inadequate. Regardless of the source of those patterns, they must be forgiven and released from the very neurons of the two hemispheres of the brain. Some of the most powerful and harmful feelings get distributed in the brain in such a way that we can talk about it forever without piercing the bodily sense of the emotion that forms its roots. Once we can connect to that area of the body and brain, it can be experienced and re-integrated with the rest of your body and mind. That wholeness is both the process and the result of healing.”

My prayer for you today is that you will learn to forgive. Not only to forgive others, but most importantly yourself. That you are able to step out of the patterns of hurt and pain moving towards the light. Forgive: look up, look in, look forward, look around and look back.

Your thoughts have a creative force. What you think actually shapes your reality. Do you not always live the life you want? With a conscious intention you can make all your dreams come true. If you are used to carrying that little voice within that says you will fail, then you shall indeed never succeed. You can, however, manifest your life as you wish it to be! The first step is to set a clear intention: work with it, visualize it and imagine that it is already there. this is how you embody your manifestation. As soon as you fully believe that you have reached your goal, let it go. It is no longer in your hands, but in the energy field that is all around. this card invites you to set clear goals. What is it that you want to achieve? Make sure that your intention is free of doubt. Should insecurities or fears still arise, then find out what is causing them. Focus your attention on your doubts and embrace your fears without resistance. By feeling something in it’s totality, you can make space for healing. Then, it will be possible to set a clear intention and release it. The next steps will present themselves automatically, as long as you manage to recognize them.
